  1. Me and my friend traveled with paul to mt. Kenya this May and it was incredible!
Paul is a great person with a lot of knowledge of the area, he took care of everything for us. The service we received was perfect, the food he cooked was delicious and the porters were so nice.
I recommend paul to you all, he is a good man and will give an experience of your life!

I had 5 enjoyable days with polemark tours. I did the Sirloin Chogoria traverse, including climbing Lenena point plus the Circuit around Baltan. I was delighted with Paul from start to finish. Paul was extremely helpful when I was organising the trip by email, he was always prompt, very professional and knowledgeable. His prices were very fair. The organisation of my trek and logistics was by Paul he was excellent. Paul has great experienced, knowledgeable and very friendly, he is very good at spotting and identifying wildlife and plants. Paul also cooked all the food which was excellent and plenty full (too much) and very tasty and lots of variety over the trip. Paul is a great person to be with in the mountains, and safe. I have done lots of trips around the world and Paul is up there with the best of the guides i have encountered. I can recommend Paul to take you on a adventure.

  4. Hello to you, trekker looking for a guide,

I did the 4 days trek on Mt Kenya to Point Lenana with Paul, route from Sirimon Gate to Chogoria. Paul was a great guide, being very helpful and supportive when I was in pain with altitude sickness, knowing the mountains super well, organizing awesome and surprising cooking.

You don’t need to go through an agency when you can directly deal with very good local guides like Paul. He can help you organize the trip you exactly want depending on your expectations.

  5. I just returned from hiking Mount Kenya with Paul, the owner of Polemark Tours. The hike was absolutely gorgeous, starting in a tropical forest with baboons and going through all kind of vegetation zones until a small glacier at the top. I can only recommend hiking Mount Kenya, and especially with Polemark Tours. Paul was extremely experienced, being born at the foot of Mount Kenya having guided people up the mountain for 18 years now. He knows every single path, plant or animal, all the shelters and huts inside out and is happy to care for any wishes you may have. He is also a great cook and always up for a good conversation and a laugh!

What I also really valued was Paul’s professionalism and commercial transparency. He presented a clear budget with all detailed prices (park fees, transport, accommodation, guide, porter, etc.) and then adjusted it according to my available days and budget. I contacted a number of other operators at the same time, all of which just gave me a total price without any clear explanations, and most of them were also more expensive than Paul. After investigating these differences a bit more, I also found out that the majority of operators are actually middle men who then hire independent local guides to do the actual work, paying them less and consuming a large share of the amount paid by the client. Polemarktours, on the other hand, has no middle men and the owner Paul guides his clients himself. So if you consider hiking Mount Kenya, go with Paul!
